Néstor Crespo (Bio)

(Guitarist - Composer - Arranger - Professor)

He's studied guitar with Professor Armando Alonso and composition with maestro Claudio Shulkin.

In the eighties he played with various jazz groups in important jazz clubs and theaters of Buenos Aires and the inner country.

In 1989, he was in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), where he worked with several European musicians, among them; Ola Calamayer (pianist for the legendary saxophonist, Dexter Gordon) stands out, participating in events such as the "International Jazz Festival of Mallorca", where he performed with the quintet of the prestigious Woody Shaw.

He develops a solid educational career, as much in the private as in important institutions of Europe and Argentina.

He is founding professor (1986) of "Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda" (Argentina), position that occupies at the present time.

He has dictated numerous clinics like for example: "Conservatory of Mar del Plata" (Argentina), Conservatory of Palma de Mallorca and "Las Aulas" (Barcelona, Spain), on "improvisation and functional harmony in the Jazz". Together with the bandoneonísta Alfredo Marcucci developed clinics about "Elements of the Tango", organized by "Academia German of Tango" (Stuttgart - Germany).

He is Musical Director of the projects "Buenos Aires Hora Zero" and Café (Music of the coffee lands) created by the Asociación Cultural Alturas e.V (Karlsruhe-Alemania)

Also performs as Arranger and Musical Director of the tango singer Omar Mollo and from January of the 2004 take part of the Alsina Tango Ensemble.

El Tranvía Tango (Bio)

At the beginning of 90 he creates "El Tranvía Tango"

In all these years of intense activity He records 8 Cds in Argentina, Germany, Italy and Spain, with different orquestations and musicians always with the firm intention to reunite within a same artistic concept, the different times from the tango.

From 1995 he makes of uninterrupted way an intense activity, including presentations in radio and Television, concerts in the most important halls, milongas and theaters of Buenos Aires, more than
15 European tours (Germany, Austria, France, Sweden, Holland, Switzerland, etc.) with an average
of 80 annual concerts.

He has shared stages with musicians of such stature as Sexteto Mayor, Daniel Binelli (Astor Piazzolla's bandoneonist), Alfredo Marcucci, the tango singer Omar Mollo, etc.

He has received important prizes as much in Argentina as in the outside: "A.C.E. Awards (Entertainment Journalist Association-Argentina) like "Best Tango Group" and with the Prize "Future Tango", granted by "German Academies of Tango"(Stuttgart - Germany). The CD "Ocre Buenos Aires", receives the "Best CD Awards" granted by the prestigious magazine "La Frontera" (Stockholm, Sweden), etc
